Technical Project Manager

Health Information Technology Care, LLC (HITCare) is looking for a Technical Project Manager to join our growing team! HITCare provides professional services to non-profit organizations throughout the country.  We are headquartered in Northern California with growing teams around the country.  

Our talented team has deep expertise with business and clinical applications that enable our clients to serve their communities. We implement advanced security, server and network infrastructures to support those applications. We enjoy leveraging the latest technology at our client sites while focusing on providing world-class service & solutions. We are looking for team member to grow with our company. 

The person in this role will work with the management and service teams to plan and execute technical projects. This is a unique opportunity to get hands-on with a wide variety of clients, systems, and applications. 

To be successful in this position the candidate needs to be a great communicator, a solid problem solver, and a hardware/software generalist with a focus on client satisfaction. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Drive project timelines and manage deadlines 
  • Manage technical projects working with all departments as needed 
  • Hold regular (weekly, biweekly, monthly) project calls with clients 
  • Communicate with clients; keep them informed of progress, notify them of changes, etc.
  • Establish continuity of communication internally and for our clients 
  • Update the project management and ticketing systems with all updates 
  • Work closely with and escalate issues as necessary to other HITCare resources 
  • Project management for opening/closing sites 
  • Perform onsite work at client sites as required 
  • Log all billable time per client support contracts 
  • Document all work comprehensively 
  • Attend regular company meetings 

Supervisory responsibilities:  

  • Assigned as needed 


  • Industry training preferred; relevant certificate a plus 
  • In lieu of formal training hands-on experience will be considered 


  • Minimum 4 years hands-on experience working in a business technology related position 
  • Experience providing amazing customer service/support 
  • Prior experience in the healthcare delivery environment 
  • Prior experience working with a PSA\ticketing system (such as AutoTaskConnectwise, etc.)
  • Extra points for prior experience working in Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment 
  • Extra points for experience with and an understanding of Electronic Health Record (EHR) software, specifically NextGen, eClinicalWorks, and/or EPIC 

Skills & Abilities: 

  • Ability to manage project timelines and work with clients and internal resources to meet deadlines  
  • Firm grasp of technology used in business environment (networks, Microsoft based infrastructure, etc) 
  • Able to answer questions directly or effectively find/research answers for clients about technology 
  • Able to coach and guide users through basic computer tasks related to project tools and components 
  • Excellent people, organization and communication skills 
  • Ability to work as a self-starter while collaborating as part of a team 
  • Able to maintain calm under pressure and thrive dealing with the unexpected 

Physical Demands: 

  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds occasionally (servers, equipment, etc.) 
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods 


  • Valid driver’s license
  • Local/regional travel required for onsite meetings
  • Reliable automobile and insurance required
  • Some air travel required for this position

Compensation and Benefits: 

  • Salary $70,000-$95,000/year DOE
